Volunteer Administrator (4-6 Hours/Week)
The Volunteer Administrator is responsible for volunteer scheduling and training as well as the tracking of volunteer hours, and is responsible for ensuring prompt and accurate attention to incoming phone calls, e-mails, etc. In coordination with the Development Director and Volunteer Lead, the Volunteer Administrator reviews volunteer applications to determine applicant’s suitability for the EBC volunteer program. The Volunteer Administrator provides regular status reports to the Development Director and functions as a liaison between volunteers and the EBC administration.
Grounds & Garden Assistant (4-12 Hours/Month)
The Grounds and Garden Assistant will assist with mowing and keeping orchards trimmed and clear of debris and assist with the harvesting of fall fruit. The Grounds and Garden Assistant is also responsible for maintaining the outdoor fountain and keeping the outdoor seating areas clean and clear of trash and debris. Hours are flexible and will vary by season.
Special Event Assistant (3-6 Hours/Event)
The Special Event Assistant will have a variety of duties depending on the nature of the special event and the volunteer’s interests and abilities. Duties range from setting up chairs and tables, cooking, cutting and plating food and site preparation and cleanup, to contacting potential event sponsors, donors and participants.

Receptionist/Office Assistant (4.5-9 Hours/Week)
The Receptionist/Office Assistant greets all visitors when they arrive, directs those with business, classes or appointments to the appropriate location or individual and generally helps provide a warm and hospitable atmosphere. The Receptionist/Office Assistant is responsible for answering incoming phone calls and directing them to the appropriate individual or location. Office responsibilities also include filing, duplication, assembling information packets, mailing materials and providing other office assistance when required.
Host- Visitor Center (4.5-9 Hours/Week)
The Host greets all visitors when they arrive at the Visitor Center, directs those with business, classes or appointments to the Administration Building and generally helps provide a warm and hospitable atmosphere. The Host may be asked to make coffee and will be responsible for the general cleanliness of the Visitor Center for their shift.
Barbeque Coordinator (8-10 Hours/Month)
The Barbeque Coordinator is responsible for supervising volunteers in appropriate, safe and sanitary food preparation and service. The Barbeque Coordinator shops for menu items in coordination with the Development Director and ensures an adequate supply of utensils and other necessary non-food items.
Support Group Assistant (4 Hours/Month)
The Earle Baum Center organizes and facilitates support groups for persons who are blind or visually impaired throughout the region, providing relevant information and encouraging discussion of issues specific to visual impairment. The Support Group Assistant attends weekly group meetings and helps support the group facilitator to orient new group members, answer questions about EBC programs and services from a user perspective, helps facilitate discussions, and provides other help as required.
