There are many types of lighting and scenarios you encounter throughout the day and glare can be a significant problem for those with sight loss. The Earle Baum Center provides glare evaluations [lower case] for individuals. The evaluation takes into consideration four basic types of light, including sunlight, artificial, combination and direct light. Your glare evaluation considers these lighting situations and recommends glare shields (sunglasses) tinted to your specifications. We additionally show you many options in lighting for use throughout your home.

The glare evaluation is part of our Low Vision Clinic and may also be scheduled as a separate appointment. Call the LVC coordinator at (707) 523-3222 to learn more about our glare evaluations.

Our mission is to provide opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired to improve and enrich their personal, social and economic lives.
