Introduction to Vision Loss - For people who have recently experienced sight loss or have not yet dealt with their vision loss. Introduces information, techniques and equipment to allow you to continue leading an active life.
10-12 weekly sessions.

Living with Vision Loss - Assists blind and visually impaired people in adjusting to the emotions of losing their sight. 12 weekly sessions.

Assistive Technology Services- Evaluates a person’s skills and needs, and offers individualized recommendations.  Training is offered in the use of adaptive hardware and software such as, notetakers, cell phones, magnifiers, screen readers, scanning & optical character recognition, Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) systems and more. Instruction schedule based on individual needs.

Independent Living Skills - Teaches adaptive skills for cooking, hygiene, shopping, financial management, cleaning, clothing color matching, gift wrapping and much more. Instruction schedule based on individual needs.

Orientation and Mobility - Teaches blind or visually impaired persons the skills they require to travel independently, safely and confidently throughout their environments. Specific instruction covers spatial concepts, sensory awareness, independent movement including cane skills, and the use of public transportation.

Braille Instruction - Much more than a reading tool, Braille is integral to independence. Learn labeling of many items including foods, files, clothing, games and more. Instruction schedule based on individual needs.

Ongoing Fitness – Stretching, strengthening, aerobics.Mondays and Thursdays.

Tap Dance - Six sessions. $

Crafts - Six sessions. $

Nutrition and Cooking - Focusing on good nutrition and adaptive cooking. techniques. Emphasis on proper diets for diabetics. 12 weekly sessions.

Garden Club - Spring and summer gardening. Meets twice weekly April through September.

Blind Drummers Group - Six week sessions. Meets Wednesdays at 9:15a - 10:30a. Bring your own drum or use one of ours. $35

Tandem Bicycling Club - Regular Saturday rides, beginners through experts. Pilots and stokers welcome.

Technology Users Group - Discusses and demonstrates various technologies as it relates to persons with visual impairments. Topics include: computer access, cell phones & PDA’s, note takers, access services available through a standard phone line such as News Line & Tell Me.The primary focus is for participants to share ideas and help one another. Meets on the first Monday of the month from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
